Simple is not easy. Complex is.
Simple requires that you do the same thing as the complex, but with less. A lot less. Simple is hard, but when you master it, it lasts forever.
Consider the Rolex watch for a moment. It is simple (as much as a watch can be). It does a few things extremely well. And the Rolex formula hasn’t changed. It is the same watch that is has always been.
It took unmeasurable amounts of effort to make it so simple. So consistent. So reliable. The reward for this effort is a timeless classic.
A Rolex from 1925 will sell for 10 times (at least) of what a new one sells for. And the new ones sell for tens of thousands. That’s the power of simple… it never goes out of fashion.
Simple is hard to do, and it is worth it.
Do you think Rolex represents simple luxury, or do they represent something else?
Buy me one and I’ll tell you 😉 Good post btw.
LOL. I like the way you roll, Dylan.
