Brussels sprouts are great for your health. So are blueberries. And so are foods naturally rich in Vitamin C. But commit to a diet that is exclusively Brussels sprouts, or blueberries, or Vitamin C infusions and your health is screwed. Great is typically great when its served in moderation.
The Brussels Sprouts Only Diet
What is your greatest talent? Do you have a special super strength to make critical decisions at hyper-speed, for example? Are you the master of gut decisions? What’s your version of the Brussels sprouts only diet?
Whatever that super talent thing of yours is, it’s great! And that’s why it’s dangerous. Constant gut instinct decisions can put your business in a downward spiral. Always moving at hyper-speed can screw with your corporate health. Relying solely on your greatness can actually be your biggest weakness.
A Little Less Of Your Greatness
Putting a cap on your greatness is neither easy nor natural. And by no means, ever, should you permanently stop using your super talent. The key to managing your greatness is to become a conscious observer of it, and to regularly ask yourself (and others) if you are over doing it. Occasionally, temper your super talent and let other skills reveal themselves.
A good medium-rare rib eye steak with a couple of Twinkies for desert not only never hurt anyone, it probably saved the lives of those weirdo people who were only eating Brussels Sprouts.
