The Importance of Friends

We talk a lot about how to improve and maintain a solid mindset. One of my secret ingredients to improved mental health? Friendships.

Did you know there was a recent Harvard study that determined our social interactions are just as important to our well being as sleep, exercise and diet?

As entrepreneurs, we spend so much time working. And sure, we have friendships within work and speak with clients and colleagues. But we need to remember to carve out time for friends, new and old. For our own well being, and theirs.

Reach out to a friend today. Check in on them and share some experiences.

You’ve got this! – Mike.

  1. Hey, absolutely a great point especially given the times when we need relationships and community even more than ever. Hey, I have heard you mention this before, but can you talk to the importance of having a fun hobby as an entrepreneur in connection to this topic?

  2. Yes, indeed it is very important! With my old friends, we are great relectors for one another, able to highlight vital info that we may have forgotten about ourselves and help ground us when we may be going astray, which does keep us current. . It is also very important to regularly communicate with those new friends, bringing new insights to one another.. all are connections for heath and prosperity!!
    Thanks Mike! You’re so awesome!!!

  3. Guilty. I love and need my friends but get carried away thinking i need hours set aside.
When really regular checkins or updates or just “How are you doing?” Text or voice message will suffice. Best to book a time and date and work your schedule around it, not vice versa.
This could definitely be a vlog.
Thanks Mike for being thoughtful and better

  4. Hello, Mike. Yeah, I agree with you and I apprciate so much your article. I had few friends on facebook in Brasil and all over the world, most of them licensed Amateur Radio Operators/Ham Radios like me, but we almost didn’t have interaction. Since last year I began to request friendship to women from Brasil and all over the world. Now, I have approximately 1300 women and 101 man friends. I’m feeling well and more comfortable with so many women friends from all over the world with all respect on my part, thank God! So I believe social interactions are just as important to our health as sleep, exercise and diet. Thank you so much for this excellent article.
