How to Use AI and Automations in Your Business – and Stay Human at the Same Time

As much as I love automating systems, AI has me taken aback a bit.  Show of hands - Is anyone else giving AI the side eye? I mean. It...

Art Versus Science

Sometimes "art" is simply an excuse for science that is too difficult to figure out. Is what you do really an art, or can it be broken down to a...

Every Business Is Ultimately A Manufacturer (Yours Too)

The Best Thing To Systematize In Your Business

Systematizing your business is the key to unlimited success and growth.  I know you know that. But many people struggle with the “where to get started” part.  Do you need to systematize everything first and then cut the business over?  Or do you simply automate the stuff you are doing already?  The answer is no to both (I will explain in detail in future posts).

So, if neither of those are where you get started, where do you?  By doing the easiest system, that will have the most impact, and ideally already works with your customers’ (or employees’ or your) habits.

St. Louis Airport - Urinals With Flies

A great example is at the St. Louis Airport. I have been flying in and out of that place for 7 years now.  The bathrooms used to be disgusting.  But with the addition of a simple system, St. Louis Airport has the cleanest bathrooms I have seen anywhere (and this includes fine restaurants). The trick? A easy system, that immediately has big impact and works with the customers’ ingrained habits.

They put pictures of flies in the urinals.

And, every guy knows this: if there is a fly in the urinal that is what you shoot for.

Urinal Fly Close Up

With the fly system in place, everyone is targeting nice and high in the urinal. No water splashing, and no pee dribbling on the floor.

The Clean Bathroom At St. Louis Airport

And with that simple system in place, St. Louis Airport has spotless bathrooms. The cleaning costs are down (you don’t need someone going in as often as before to clean up the mess) and the customers appreciation has gone up (travelers are impressed).

What simple system improvements can you make that 1. play into existing natural habits and 2. will have a big impact on the bottom line?
