One of the perks of being an author and speaker is that you meet many other authors and speakers. I have met people who I consider to be the masters of their craft. But they’re not – not in their eyes.
The best speakers still think they can be better. They see ways to up their game. The best authors think their latest book wasn’t perfect, and that the next one will be that much better for it.
If there is one thing I have learned from the masters, it’s that mastery will forever be out of reach. It’s the pursuit of mastery that makes them masters, because is unachievable. You can always be better.
